Venir
Following a lesson that we just did on how to say “I just” you will need to know how to conjugate the verb venir. This is an irregular IR verb. In the video below I’ll go through the conjugations in the present tense and after that you can read through some practice sentences.
Please note that the example sentences are different to the ones in the I just/venir de tutorial in that here we are using the literal meaning of venir: To Come.
Conjugation Table
Je viens – I come
Tu viens – You come (Singular, familiar)
Il/elle/on vient – He/she/one comes
Nous venons – We come
Vous venez – You come (plural, formal)
Ils/elles viennent – They come
Example sentences
Nous venons demain.
We come tomorrow.
Il vient à trois heures.
He comes at 3 o’clock.
Ils viennent de temps en temps.
The come sometimes.
Le patron ne vient jamais.
The boss never comes.
Le chef ne vient pas.
The cook is not coming.
Ça serait sympa si tu viens.
It would be nice if you come.
Pourquoi est-ce que tu ne viens pas?
Why aren’t you coming?
Tu viens à quelle heure?
At what time are you coming?
Est-ce ce que je dois venir?
Do I have to come?
