Possessive pronouns in French are a bit tricky and requires some close attention. They are much harder then the English equivalent of “my”. In French and the possessives correspond directly with the gender (masculine or feminine) or a number of objects (single or plural) to which they refer.
In the video tutorial I explain exactly how these possessives work. One good way to learn them fast is to use this memorization trick. For my you have mon, ma and mes (see below). Repeat this over and over until you get. For your in the familiar you have ton, ta and tes. Again you can repeat this over.
The personal pronouns for our (notre and nos), your (votre, vos – both plural and formal) and their (leur, leurs) do not need to correspond with the gender of the object. Hence, they are much easier to learn.
