In this lesson you will learn the French demonstrative pronouns. A demonstrative is a word which you would use to say this or that.
In French grammar when you say “this” and “these” it is important that these words be in accordance with the gender (masculine or feminine) and singular or plural of the noun. If you are noun is singular masculine you would say “ce” for this. If it is feminine singular you will say “cette”. If you are noun is plural and whether it’s masculine or feminine you will say “ces”.
Another easy way of pointing something out is to use the word “c’est”. This word literally means “it’s” or “that’s” and is very commonly used in French language.
Example phrases are “ce garçon” (this boy) “cette fille” (this girl) and “ces enfants” (these children).
